There are several works in literature on the analysis of judo match (Heinish 1997, Sterkowicz 1998, Franchini 2008, Sacripanti 2006), but none of them refers to the youth classes. With this study we tried to discover and evaluate the differences between cadet athletes, males and females (from 15 to 16 years of age according to the rules of International Judo Federation), regarding the duration of active and passive phases during combat, Matte-out analysis, number of techniques per match and effectiveness.
