The paper proposes an interpretation of the urban plans of the city of Ravenna between the two World Wars, with a particular focus on the 1920s and the Filippone’s plans. It concentrates on the contemporary planning of the port of the city, which was established as an autonomous entity in 1919. Starting from this, the paper analyses the transformations occurred to the areas near the Candiano Canal, the expanding area of the Darsena district and the coastal settlement od Porto Corsini.
