L'"io nascosto a se stesso". Dal sonno alla veglia a partire da Husserl

The essay aims to discuss Husserl's conception of the relationship between wakefulness and sleep, with particular reference to the manuscripts published in the volume "Grenzprobleme der Phänomenologie". In these texts, Husserl revisits the structure of the life of consciousness on the basis of the alternation between wakefulness and sleep, in which the concept of affection plays an essential role. In fact, it is precisely the uninterrupted continuity ensured by the hyletic layer that allows us to rethink the experience of discontinuity with respect to wakefulness represented by periods of sleep.
