This book follows the raise and fall of the Green collection of ancient papyri and other antiquities from its inception in 2009 to the present. It uses this case study to demonstrate how the imperial colonial roots of papyrology and close disciplines are the very cause of contemporary unethical when not illegal practices in collecting, studying and publishing antiquities. It proposes ways to improve current methodologies and practices.
