Abiotic Biofuel Cell

An abiotic biofuel cell comprising an anode compartment comprising an anode chamber, wherein said anode chamber contains a first electrolyte solution, comprising an alkaline solution and a biofuel dispersed in said alkaline solution, and an anode chamber electrode in contact with the first electrolyte solution; a cathode compartment comprising a cathode chamber, wherein said cathode chamber contains a second electrolyte solution, comprising an electron acceptor, and a cathode chamber electrode in contact with said second electrolyte solution; and ion-selective means arranged to separate the anode chamber and the cathode chamber and be in fluid communication therewith; a system comprising such abiotic biofuel cell and an operating process thereof.
