The contract of sale is the essential instrument in all international transactions, including those necessary for the diverse activities of the fashion industry. In matters of sale, the principle of freedom of the parties applies, which is expressed both in the negotiation of the content of the contract and in the possibility of choosing the applicable law, within the framework of national, international and supranational rules. Private associations are developing sets of rules and contractual models that can help the parties to identify the most appropriate agreements for their needs. The purpose of this brief presentation is to give an overview of the most relevant applicable rules and to indicate how to navigate through this complex mosaic.
