This study integrates known archaeological data on the port settlement of Onchesmos (modern-day Saranda) to develop a coherent reconstruction of the urban layout and the neighboring coastal area, which have been substantially altered by modern developments. Utilizing historical photography and archival cartographic materials, it has been possible to propose a new planimetric representation of the late antique defensive circuit of the city. Moreover, this research has identified several previously unrecognized and now unfortunately lost monuments, ranging from the Hellenistic Age to the Early Middle Ages.

Abstract
This study integrates known archaeological data on the port settlement of Onchesmos (modern-day Saranda) to develop a coherent reconstruction of the urban layout and the neighboring coastal area, which have been substantially altered by modern developments. Utilizing historical photography and archival cartographic materials, it has been possible to propose a new planimetric representation of the late antique defensive circuit of the city. Moreover, this research has identified several previously unrecognized and now unfortunately lost monuments, ranging from the Hellenistic Age to the Early Middle Ages.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
