Abstract

In a world characterized by increasing levels of uncertainty and risk, and rapid and radical change, organizations are faced with the challenge of not just surviving but thriving. Antifragility, a concept beyond resilience, offers a framework for turning volatility into opportunity. This article explores how the application of antifragility as part of the evolution of ISO' offering of organizational management and governance systems standards can guide organizations towards sustainable growth, supporting related transformation processes. The historical moment we are going through is constantly evolving and would seem to have had positive impacts on the environment and society. All this has collided with underestimated aspects, characterized by stressors, shocks, volatility, disorder, errors, breakdowns, attacks or failures. For example, in the common scenario of the globalized world we have faced climate change, rising seas, war scenarios, non-respect for human rights, the unethical use of technologies and finally the pandemic. from Covid-19. Aspects that have taken the name of "black swans", that is, those rare but extremely impactful events, not predictable a priori, which have led the current world to be characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.
