The essay aims to discuss the three main ways according to which a city can communicate, doing this form the point of view of Media Education. These ways deal with the chance, for the city, of being a laboratoty (into which people could meet together, develop and share ideas), a space (that is the city as an information repository), finally a text (and in this case it is possible to reconsider critical thinking and critical analysis conceptualizing the city as a text people could read and interpèretate).
