The essay is a critical view on Adrienne Rich's essays and poems connected to politics of the body, feminism(s) and it re-interprets her writings together with black authors such as Alice Walker and Audre Lorde, including the voice of contemporary poet Stella Nyanzi. In defining genealogies in women's literary tradition Rich's works are read as bridges between feminist aesthetics and political activism for human and civil rights.
