La scansia delle Artes nella Libraria di Francesco Maria II della Rovere: ozio e saperi di un principe

With the stimulus given by considering both library and metaphysics, the illustrative case of the reconstruction project of the last duke of Urbino Francesco Maria II’s Library is shown, illustrating the structure of the project and the content of the specific shelf reserved for the Artes Variae. This bibliographic review demonstrates the preciousness of the collection, and it makes known which phases and activities are necessary for a library reconstruction, and finally it traces some further lines of investigation, specifically with iconographic interest, starting from dedications, manuscripts and links between the shelves and the scientific partitions of the ducal collection.

A partire dal binomio biblioteca-metafisica, si mostra il caso esemplificativo del progetto di ricostruzione della Libraria di Francesco Maria II ultimo duca di Urbino, illustrando sia la struttura del progetto che il contenuto della specifica scansia riservata alle Artes Variae. Tale esposizione bibliografica consente di dare un saggio della preziosità della raccolta, di segnalare le fasi e le attività che un lavoro di ricostruzione libraria comporta, ed infine di tracciare alcune ulteriori piste di indagine specificatamente con interesse iconografico, a partire ad esempio da dediche, esemplari manoscritti e collegamenti tra le scansie della raccolta ducale.
