Advanced educational approaches. Shaping a community of designers capable of dealing with global challenges.

In the design courses of the University of Bologna, Advanced Design Unit offers an educational model capable of providing students with the design tools to face current and future global challenges. A method where sustainability, multiculturalism, community, multidisciplinarity, responsibility, anticipation and transition are the keywords and approaches through which a community of intergenerational designers, made up of students, former students, researchers, and teachers, innovates goods, processes, services and experiences. The experiments presented in the essay demonstrate that it is a model that grows and operates in an area such as Emilia Romagna which is characterized as fertile from a cultural and creative point of view, open to others and able to welcome the change that awaits us.
