The paper introduces hypotheses concerning the road system of the Agrigento hinterland, focusing especially on service routes for the transit of people, resources, and commercial products. Employing an integrated methodology that combines direct observation of cartographic sources and with the application of GIS algorithms for Least Cost Path (LCPs) determination, the analysis of the landscape is conducted across multiple scales of representation, fostering the emergence of both scientific and methodological questions.
