Ingrid Bergman viaggia in Italia

Starting from a negative from the photographic archive of the Milanese newspaper “La Notte”, preserved at the Apice Center of the University of Milan, this essay on the one hand reconstructs the stages of a trip to Italy undertaken by the actress Ingrid Bergman in 1963, and more particularly in Milan in October of that year. On the other hand, through a comprehensive investigation that examines all the Milanese newspapers of the period, this essay manages to demonstrate that the analyzed negative, never published in “La Notte”, actually belongs to the photographic archive of the “Corriere Lombardo”, a newspaper purchased by La Notte in 1961 and which continued to publish until 1966. Therefore, this research reveals for the first time that the photographic archive of the newspaper “La Notte” also contains that of the newspaper “Corriere Lombardo”, which was not previously known.

A partire da un negativo proveniente dall’Archivio fotografico del quotidiano milanese “La Notte”, conservato presso il Centro Apice dell’Università degli Studi di Milano, questo saggio da un lato ricostruisce le tappe di un viaggio in Italia compiuto dall’attrice Ingrid Bergman nel 1963, e più in particolare a Milano nell’ottobre di quell’anno. Dall’altro, attraverso un’indagine a tappeto che prende in esame tutti i quotidiani milanesi del periodo, questo saggio perviene a dimostrare che il negativo analizzato, mai pubblicato su “La Notte”, appartiene in realtà all’archivio fotografico del “Corriere Lombardo”, una testata acquistata da La Notte nel 1961 e che aveva continuato le pubblicazioni fino al 1966. Questa ricerca, quindi, per la prima volta, rivela che l’Archivio fotografico del quotidiano “La Notte” contiene anche quello del quotidiano “Corriere Lombardo”: un dato che prima non si conosceva.
