Epoche, pseudomorfosi, rioccupazioni Hans Blumenberg, Hans Jonas e il problema delle soglie epocali

For the purpose of analyzing and focusing on the articulation of thought that enabled Hans Blumenberg to identify an original solution to the problem of the experientiality of the new in history and how to connect thus continuity and discontinuity in the cultural form "epoch" (1), the text proposes to sketch the constellation of key words that gave rise, in confrontation with Hans Jonas, to his specific historical functionalism : the notions of "metakinetics," as the movement of the background against which the foreground movement of concepts and images is silhouetted, and of "horizon of meaning," as the background that integrates the understanding of that movement (2); the upheaval of the idea of "cosmos" in the transition from the ancient world to Gnostic cosmology (3); the concepts of "epoch," as unity and oneness of meaning; and of "epochal threshold," as the problematization of the caesura and the possibility of witnesses to account for it (4-5), the "pseudomorphosis" and its withdrawal from the Spenglerian take on Jonas (6), and, finally, the passing into modern-age research of the ensemble connections thus identified, through the recapitulation of the "epochs of the epoch concept" and the introduction of the notion of "reoccupation" as a juncture of displacement and minimum identity between the system of questions and answers dislocated from one epoch to another (7).

Allo scopo di analizzare e mettere a fuoco l’articolazione di pensiero che permise a Hans Blumenberg di individuare una soluzione originale al problema dell’esperibilità del nuovo nella storia e di come connettere quindi continuità e discontinuità nella forma culturale «epoca», il testo si propone di abbozzare la costellazione di parole chiave che diede luogo, nel confronto con Hans Jonas, al suo specifico funzionalismo storico (1): le nozioni di «metacinetica», come movimento dello sfondo su cui si staglia il movimento di primo piano dei concetti e delle immagini, e di «orizzonte di senso», come sfondo che integra la comprensione di tale movimento (2), lo stravolgimento dell’idea di «cosmo» nel passaggio dal mondo antico alla cosmologia gnostica (3), i concetti di «epoca», come unità e unicità di senso, e di «soglia epocale», come problematizzazione della cesura e della possibilità dei testimoni di darne conto (4-5), la «pseudomorfosi» e il suo prelievo dalla ripresa spengleriana di Jonas (6) e, infine, il trapasso nella ricerca sull’Età moderna delle connessioni d’insieme così individuate, attraverso la ricapitolazione delle «epoche del concetto di epoca» e l’introduzione della nozione di «rioccupazione» come snodo di sfasatura e minimo di identità tra il sistema delle domande e delle risposte dislocate da un’epoca all’altra (7).
