The collection of Aegean materials is the third largest in Italy, after those of the Museum of Civilisations in Rome and the National Archaeological Museum in Florence. It comprises 15 vases and about 160 potsherds. However, it differs from the former ones, that almost exclusively include finds from the Italian excavations of the early 20th century in Crete and the necropolises of Rhodes, as it provides scholars with a collection in Italy that stands out as far as the variety and richness of styles and contexts of origin are concerned. Indeed, the Aegean materials in Faenza may be of considerable interest, among other things, to organise training activities and workshops.

Abstract
The collection of Aegean materials is the third largest in Italy, after those of the Museum of Civilisations in Rome and the National Archaeological Museum in Florence. It comprises 15 vases and about 160 potsherds. However, it differs from the former ones, that almost exclusively include finds from the Italian excavations of the early 20th century in Crete and the necropolises of Rhodes, as it provides scholars with a collection in Italy that stands out as far as the variety and richness of styles and contexts of origin are concerned. Indeed, the Aegean materials in Faenza may be of considerable interest, among other things, to organise training activities and workshops.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
