Carte del monastero di San Silvestro tra Ferrara, Montecassino e Halle (Saale)

The oldest documents from the monasteries of Ferrara are today dispersed and preserved outside Ferrara in Milan, Montecassino and Rome, as a consequence of the provisions of the Napoleonic age. The documents from the archive of the monastery of San Silvestro are kept for the most part in the Montecassino archive. However, ten documents from this benedictine convent have survived thanks to collectors, and can be found in the Sammlung Morbio in Halle (Saale) and in the Collezione Antonelli of the Ariostea Library in Ferrara. The article follows the vicissitudes of this little group of documents and presents its critical edition.
