The notion of interest, despite being so relevant for the Legal Theory (and Public Law Theory particularly), has been rarely studied and analyzed. Although with significantly different nuances, in this few works “interest” is almost constantly described as the relationship between a subject having a need and the goods suitable to satisfy that need1. Yet, about this first possible definition, the interpretation of what a “need” is has been thoroughly debated.
