Medical interpreting in Spain, Italy and Romania: A comparative study

This paper presents a comparative analysis of medical interpreting in Spain, Italy and Romania. The data were collected by the six partners of the ReACTMe1 Project, an Erasmus+ project aimed at: • obtaining a clear and realistic picture of the state-of-the art of medical interpreting needs, services and training in the three abovementioned countries;• training trainers and higher education learners, also by designing a curriculum for a medical interpreting module;• developing a learning platform with pedagogical materials for teaching/learning medical interpreting; and• providing multilingual guidelines for healthcare staff working with medical interpreters.
