Dispositivi estetici. Teorie e linguaggi delle forme dal Settecento all'età contemporanea

This volume addresses some questions and problems related to the practices and languages of expressive and communicative forms. Issues concerning the critique and interpretation of the content represented and the values expressed, or left implicit, by images, artefacts and works of art are also considered in relation to the intellectual and social contexts in which they are produced and consumed. Humour, wonder and fiction are just some of the aesthetic devices that the volume examines and explores, often going back to their first definition, tracing their relationship to the current historical and social context, as well as to the heterogeneous fields of modern and contemporary culture.
