Morgagni hernias are a very rare congenital defect of the antero-medial portion of the diaphragm. These are named after the Italian anatomist Giovanni Morgagni who described the entity in 1769. These hernias represent <3% of all hernias of the diaphragm. When diagnosed, the surgical repair is generally recommended to avoid the risk of strangulation. This chapter discusses patient selection, operating room setup as well as intra-operative considerations important in the robotic repair of these unusual hernias.
