The crisis of capitalism can be assumed nowadays as a reality. The current economic and social system is characterized by severe conflict and constant changes (Hosseini, 2011). This is evident when considering the dramatic labor market scenery that reflects the failure of capitalism and the devastating effects that derive from it. In this turbulent time, flanked by a global recession (Imbs, 2010), organizations decisions are often focused on how to cost cut, reduce the training and development of employees, or even on their total removal (Morgan, Froud, Quack and Schneiberg, 2011). Taking this context into consideration, our research questions focused on the role of managers. In other words, what should be the role managers have in order to fight capitalism crisis? And also, could investing in human beings be a solution for problems emerging from the capitalism crisis? What are the human resources management policies that managers should undertake to overcome the crisis, in this economic slowdown?
