Anterior lamella keratoplasty (ALK) techniques allow the surgeon to selectively dissect parts of the diseased corneal stroma while sparing the healthy remaining stroma and endothelium. • Depending on the depth of dissection, ALK techniques may be divided into two main categories: the pre-Descemet membrane procedure, when variable layers of stroma are left adherent to the Descemet membrane, and the Descemet membrane procedure, when complete stromal excision baring the Descemet membrane or the pre-Descemet layer is accomplished.

Abstract
Anterior lamella keratoplasty (ALK) techniques allow the surgeon to selectively dissect parts of the diseased corneal stroma while sparing the healthy remaining stroma and endothelium. • Depending on the depth of dissection, ALK techniques may be divided into two main categories: the pre-Descemet membrane procedure, when variable layers of stroma are left adherent to the Descemet membrane, and the Descemet membrane procedure, when complete stromal excision baring the Descemet membrane or the pre-Descemet layer is accomplished.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
