Obesity was already a global epidemic, socially patterned. However, since March 2020, Covid-19 has exacerbated this phenomenon in a double trouble. The effects that the stressful space-time context of lockdown has generated in the eating habits and lifestyles of families both in adults and children, represent the scenario where Covibesity originated. In the sociological perspective, Covibesity refers to a situational obesity that, as a result of the confined life, has exposed a huge number of families to the health, social and economic risk. Guided by the scientific literature that has analyzed the stay home scenario in these months of emergency, we will describe Covibesity by focusing on eating habits and lifestyles. The lifecourse perspective, then, sheds light on how it is important to immediately detect and correct unhealthy social trajectories even unexpected especially from early childhood. However, despite the difficulties the new normality is also an opportunity to try to react to the spill over effects of Covibesity by tracing paths - individual, social and political - that attempt to support family empowerment despite the vulnerabilities
