The following reflections have a place within a wider debate on the role of culture and cultural policies in the development of communities. I would like to specifically deal with the role of cultural practices, as an expression of several arts, in social cohesion and the construction of a belonging identity. In this essay, I would particularly like to consider the role of artistic practices in the process of building a community’s social imagination, which translates as the construction of a possible future originating from institutional and political planning, as well as from irrational and linearly sequential practices, which could become both the starting point and purpose behind the action of the collective, politics, and the community in general.
