The short essay describes textual and paratextual material of magical, traditional medical and theurgical subjects as they have been identified in Arabo-Islamic manuscript collections from the Horn of Africa. The material has been gathered during the field missions af the ERC project Islam in the Horn of Africa and described in the data base of the project.
