The essay discusses, at the theoretical level, the new phenomenon of jobless growth characterizing the current mode of production. It traces its main cause to the affirmation of a model of competition known as positional. This model is at cross purposes with the notion of decent work as developed by ILO. The chapter concludes suggesting some measures to cope with the phenomenon of precarious jobs.
