The Persuasion of Light: A Note on Fragment Science. Tecnici del bianco

The essay describes the atmospheric lexicon, connected to the phenomena of the air and, at the same time, to the Stimmung, the atmosphere, the overall arrangement that runs through every where of a place, thus flows within the poems of P. Vangelisti and the imagines of W. Xerra with the verbal and iconic figures refracting, shimmering, overshadowing and detecting a light all its own: flickering in blushing skies, revealed in the transparency of windows at dusk, glittering on rooftops in the unforgettable blue, spinning in the wind and the stream descending from the canyon, silent on the night body, rusting on doubtful clouds, lingering in the melody of things, lost in the green thoughts of sleep. At the heart of the text and its interweaving of heaven and earth is a "persuasive light," without any filter of the glass, a "breeze that rises" from the verdant palm trees and is nothing but the "impossible white space" that shines around there. The peculiar light, L.A light, that is produced at the meeting of the Pacific Ocean and the great California desert, in Los Angeles.
