The essay presents some researches recently developed, in particular through the participation to EU H2020 projects, by the TRACE group of the Department of Architecture of the University of Bologna, focused on citizenship involvement and the development of conscious participation as an essential factor to support green energy transition strategies. In the EU, cities are responsible for 65% of energy consumption and 70% of CO2 emissions and the percentage of people living in urban areas is constantly increas-ing. Strong actions are needed to move cities towards climate neutrality by 2050 by working together with citizens. The selected research aims to promote strategies for green energy transition of neighborhoods through shared and replicable ways that can achieve significant im-pacts in energy savings and climate change emissions reduction. Finally, the essay briefly presents the H2020 project GRETA - GReen Energy Transition Actions (GA101022317), with the objective of investigating the combi-nation of energy communities and climate city contracts as key interventions to address the goal of achieving citizen-centric and climate neutral cities.

Abstract
Finally, the essay briefly presents the H2020 project GRETA - GReen Energy Transition Actions (GA101022317), with the objective of investigating the combi-nation of energy communities and climate city contracts as key interventions to address the goal of achieving citizen-centric and climate neutral cities.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
