In this chapter, the contribution of the AIMETA community to the development of masonry mechanics over the past five decades is illustrated. A review of the contributions to this field within the AIMETA conferences, as well as in the journal Meccanica, is presented by discussing no-tension models, limit analysis-based models, phenomenological models, multiscale and homogenization approaches, and block-based models. The significant impact of the AIMETA contribution on masonry mechanics is highlighted.
