Female labour migrants who returned to Georgia after long periods of emigration share their experiences, specifically addressing the question of how their migration experience shaped their self-perception. Many reported revising their values and adjusting to new value systems dominant in the receiving countries as part of their migration experiences. During qualitative interviews, informants tended to highlight the importance of their independence, including financial independence, which greatly increased their self-confidence.
