Tradurre un diverso cronotopo (sull’esempio di un dramma rinascimentale polacco)

Translating a different chronotope (on the example of a Polish Renaissance drama). The article aims to show how a text characterized by linguistic-spatial and linguistic-temporal remoteness can be made accessible to the receptive hic et nunc - the Italian reader of the 21st century - in a hermeneutic approach which, making it possible to understand, respect the diversity of chronotope. The text in question is the play The Dismissal of the Greek Envoys (1578) by Jan Kochanowski. Starting from some general problems - the meter, the style, the tone - that the translation of a text of this type poses, the translation strategies chosen are then explained and examples of their concrete application are offered.
