For many reasons, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) continues to figure as a prominent case of humanitarian crisis and human displacement (Callaghy et al. 2001; Turner 2006; Stearns 2011) . In the long period of regionalized warfare the Congo has known since the early 1990s, between one and over two million inhabitants of the Kivu Provinces and Ituri (respectively in the east and in the north-east of the country) have been physically dislocated at one point or another. This means that a quarter of the population there is constantly on the move.

Abstract
For many reasons, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) continues to figure as a prominent case of humanitarian crisis and human displacement (Callaghy et al. 2001; Turner 2006; Stearns 2011) . In the long period of regionalized warfare the Congo has known since the early 1990s, between one and over two million inhabitants of the Kivu Provinces and Ituri (respectively in the east and in the north-east of the country) have been physically dislocated at one point or another. This means that a quarter of the population there is constantly on the move.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
