The stomach performs different functions, including food storage, mechanical crushing and mixing of food with the gastric juice, which is rich in acid and enzymes. The stomach is anatomically divided into 3 regions: the fundus, the corpus and the antrum. However, on the functional level it is divided into 2 regions, proximal and distal, whose respective extensions differ as regards motor activity and secretion: the gastric corpus motor function is similar to the antrum, while its secretory function is similar to the gastric fundus.

The stomach is anatomically divided into 3 regions: the fundus, the corpus and the antrum. However, on the functional level it is divided into 2 regions, proximal and distal, whose respective extensions differ as regards motor activity and secretion: the gastric corpus motor function is similar to the antrum, while its secretory function is similar to the gastric fundus.File in questo prodotto:
