The Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana is situated at the centre of the EUR district in Rome. It was built in 1937 but it remained abandoned for a very long time. In 2015, the luxury fashion brand Fendi opened its headquarters there, and since then the building has hosted temporary exhibitions and fashion shows. The choice of giving such an important monument to Fendi provoked a lot of criticism, but it was part of a broader project of requalification and renovation of the entire area.
