This paper reflects on the role of cultural heritage in times of COVID-19, highlighting some of its specific issues: from a heritage at risk, since the lockdown closed monuments and sites, to an online entertainment for people living in quarantine, which turned from an inactive inheritance to a re- silient resource also enabling temporary medical uses. Starting from certain case studies (especially from OGR Turin research), it analyses the impacts of the pandemic on heritage conservation as well as heritage inputs in building/conveying the memory of such global events in their tangible and intangible aspects.

Abstract
This paper reflects on the role of cultural heritage in times of COVID-19, highlighting some of its specific issues: from a heritage at risk, since the lockdown closed monuments and sites, to an online entertainment for people living in quarantine, which turned from an inactive inheritance to a re- silient resource also enabling temporary medical uses. Starting from certain case studies (especially from OGR Turin research), it analyses the impacts of the pandemic on heritage conservation as well as heritage inputs in building/conveying the memory of such global events in their tangible and intangible aspects.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
