Karl Gruber’s work is a milestone in German urban theory, although of a controversial nature. Nevertheless, the body of his architectural and theoretical production still remains limited to a circle of specialists. His theories of urban and architectural design – developed starting in 1909 – represent the very original contribution he made to the “ideal German city”, equidistant from the manuals of Camillo Sitte and the technicalities of Wilhelm Baumeister.

Abstract
Karl Gruber’s work is a milestone in German urban theory, although of a controversial nature. Nevertheless, the body of his architectural and theoretical production still remains limited to a circle of specialists. His theories of urban and architectural design – developed starting in 1909 – represent the very original contribution he made to the “ideal German city”, equidistant from the manuals of Camillo Sitte and the technicalities of Wilhelm Baumeister.File in questo prodotto:
