Long term simulations have been performed with InfoWorks CS model on the whole sewer network of Bologna in order to assess CSO’s environmental impacts on the main receiving water bodies. Results coming from the simulation of the current state of the network have shown a strong CSO’s impact, either in terms of total volume spilled or in terms of Total Suspended Solids mass. Improvements originated by the presence of storage tanks within the network are quite clearly shown by results of the second simulation set.
