Sine me non intelliges. L'edizione della bibloteca cabbalistica di Giovanni Pico: acquisizioni e prospettive

The edition of the Kabbalistic Library of Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, a large collection of Hebrew-Latin translations made by the convert of Sicilian origin Shemuel ben Nissim Abulfarag, better known as Gugliemo Raimondo Moncada and Flavius Mithridates, has reached its sixth volume in 2019. The occasion was propice for a reflection on the progress of this editorial project, led by the Freie Universität Berlin (Institut für Judaistik) and the Istituto Nazionale di Studi sul Rinascimento in Florence and for the future perspectives, imagining a time when all the texts, with the Hebrew original will have been edited in full. A complete Hebrew-Latin glossary of these translations is envisaged as the most promising working tool emerging from this campaign. The importance of the translations, including their mistakes or some rather tendentious choices of the translator for the formation of Pico's thought is stressed recurring to some selected examples.
