ARTSCHITECTURE Le arti come sollecitazione del pensiero architettonico / The arts as a solicitation of architectural thought

With this issue number 54 of FAM, it seemed important to point out that although architecture is an autonomous discipline, it has always entertained and continues to have fruitful relationships with art. In this sense, art is understood as “profound” compositional procedures, and with the arts as disciplines which are in themselves autonomous and specific: music, sculpture, photography, cinema, theater. Some of the Artschitecture essays follow the first path and investigate the structures which are common to these different disciplines and form the technical tools man uses to express his poetic nature as “homo faber” and as an architect. Others seek to illustrate the exchanges that the arts cultivate “superficially” and act as a mutual stimulus and invitation.

Con questo numero 54 di FAM ci pareva importante ricordare che l’architettura, per quanto autonoma come disciplina, ha sempre intrattenuto e continua ad intrattenere rapporti fecondi con l’arte. Sia con l’arte intesa come procedure compositive “profonde”, sia con le arti intese come discipline a loro volta autonome e specifiche: la musica, la scultura, la fotografia, il cinema, il teatro. Alcuni dei saggi di Artschitecture seguono la prima via e cercano di indagare le strutture comuni a queste diverse discipline e che costituiscono lo strumentario tecnico con il quale l’uomo esprime la sua natura poetica di “homo faber” e di artefice. Altri cercano di rappresentare gli scambi che le arti coltivano “superficialmente” e fungono da sollecitazione e da stimolo reciproco.
