This essay analyzes the first Latin translation of Contra Celsum, published 1481 in Rome by the prior Cristoforo Persona, future first librarian at the Vatican Library. Three different dedicatory letters introducing to the text give important pieces of information about the origin of the project and the purpose it followed.
