The contribution aims to undertake a few short reflections on the current situation in Europe concerning the right to food and food security in the light of health emergencies and not only happening at a global level. We try to understand if, in the new strategies adopted to transform the agri-food supply chains into more sustainable models which can deal with crises of various kinds, tools have been provided to be used to implement food democracy: a necessary condition to ensure an active role for citizens in this process, allowing them to lead change.
