The archaeological excavations carried out in 1993-1994 in Ravenna, via d’Azeglio, unearthed a large residential sector of the ancient city. The huge amount of materials recovered during the fieldwork has been recently reconsidered thanks to a collaboration between the University of Bologna and the Superintendence for Fine Arts and Landscapes for the provinces of Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena and Rimini. The paper aims at presenting some preliminary results about the examination of specific categories of archaeological items, such as stone furniture, marble revetments, amphorae, lamps and painted plaster. The material culture under scrutiny covers a long time span with reference to the different settlement phases and mirrors the social and economic status of the owners. New reconstructions about the opus sectile and painted plaster decoration are proposed, as well as an overall analysis of transport, storage and lighting pottery items, with specific focus on the Late Antique materials.

Abstract
New reconstructions about the opus sectile and painted plaster decoration are proposed, as well as an overall analysis of transport, storage and lighting pottery items, with specific focus on the Late Antique materials.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
