The 5th – century AD wreck at the Parco di Teodorico

The wreck of a 5th century AD boat found near the Mausoleum of Theodoric in Ravenna is presented. The state of preservation and the construction system are highlighted, being the construction system one of the most significant aspects of the wreck, which is in a transitional phase from the shell-firs to the skeleton-first shipbulding.

Viene presentato il relitto di una barca del V secolo d.C. rinvenuto presso il Mausoleo di Teodorico a Ravenna. Si evidenziano lo stato di conservazione e il sistema costruttivo, uno degli aspetti più significativi del relitto, che si pone in una fase di transizione da quello a fasciame portante verso quello a scheletro portante.
