Abstract

The nano-confinement of the surface potential of various layered minerals can be exploited for application in nano-biotechnology, such as the control of DNA deposition and conformation, enzyme interactions and nucelotide and cells adsorption. This work reports on recent innovative results of the above very active interactions related to clinochlore and other layered mineral surfaces, however once believed as biologicaly inactive. A throughout discussion opening new horizons in biotech is reported.
