The study of Phoenician and Punic clothing presents several methodological problems. Data that can be used are mainly iconographic. The archaeological and literary sources are much less numerous. It seems essential to distinguish the representations of human characters from those of deities, highlighting the use of standardized models and stylistic clichés in many craft productions.
