Presentazione al volume "Giuseppe Dalla Torre, Scritti su Avvenire. La laicità serena di un cattolico gentile"

Foreword to the volume “Giuseppe Dalla Torre, Writings from Avvenire. A gentle Catholic’s serene laicity” In the Foreword, the articles that were published by Professor Giuseppe Dalla Torre on the newspaper Avvenire from March 1, 1988, to September 20, 2020, shortly before his untimely death, are contextualized and recalled briefly. By reading these short and concise - as required by the literary genre - yet highly effective articles and editorials, it is possible to retrace eloquently the engaging journey of the militancy, both in the ecclesial and in the civil community, of a Catholic jurist who, even in the most bitter conditions of conflict on different issues, never abdicated his genuinely lay munus - as we would say canonistically - for the infusion of a Christian spirit into the temporal order, according to the most vivid teaching of the Second Vatican Council.

Nella Presentazione si contestualizzano e si ripercorrono rapidamente gli articoli pubblicati sul quotidiano Avvenire dal Professor Giuseppe Dalla Torre dal 1° marzo 1988 al 20 settembre 2020, poco prima della sua prematura scomparsa. Mediante la lettura di tali efficacissimi articoli, spesso di fondo, su argomenti quanto mai eterogenei, brevi e quasi lapidari così come postulato dal genere letterario, si può eloquentemente sagomare l’avvincente tragitto della militanza, nella comunità ecclesiale e nella compagine civile, di un giurista cattolico che non ha mai, anche nelle condizioni di più aspro scontro su differenti problematiche, abdicato al suo munus - diremmo canonisticamente - genuinamente laicale di animazione cristiana delle realtà temporali, secondo il magistero più vivido del Concilio Vaticano II.
