Giuseppe Dalla Torre, Writings from Avvenire. A gentle Catholic’s serene laicity There is an aspect of the versatile personality of Giuseppe Dalla Torre that has probably been overshadowed in the works which have portrayed his figure during this year that has passed since his untimely death: which is the one that is linked to his longstanding and very fruitful journalistic activity. Since his youth, he never disdained to engage in the elaboration of journalistic articles, namely for the newspaper Avvenire, by coming down from the university chair and directly addressing the reader of the Catholic-inspired periodical in order to explain with logical consistency and conceptual clarity the authentic substance of problems that he approached in all of their implications, especially the juridical and the more controversial ones. By proposing many of such contributions - which were published in over thirty years - and accompanying them with brief analyses from his pupils, both direct and indirect ones, the volume wishes to give an account of an aspect of his work that, even though little investigated so far, actually is so relevant.
C’è un profilo della versatile personalità di Giuseppe Dalla Torre che forse è rimasto in ombra nelle opere che, in quest’anno decorso dalla sua prematura scomparsa, ne hanno effigiato la figura: quello legato alla sua attività giornalistica, assai protratta e fertilissima. Egli, sin dalla giovinezza, mai ha disdegnato di applicarsi all’elaborazione di articoli giornalistici, in particolare per il quotidiano Avvenire: scendendo dalla cattedra universitaria e rivolgendosi con immediatezza al lettore della testata di ispirazione cattolica, per illustrare, con linearità logica e chiarezza concettuale, l’autentica sostanza dei problemi trattati in tutti i loro risvolti, specie giuridici, più controversi. Il volume, riproponendo numerosi di tali interventi - pubblicati nel corso di oltre un trentennio - e corredandoli di brevi analisi di suoi allievi, diretti e indiretti, auspica di dar conto di questo aspetto sinora poco indagato, e invece così pregnante, della sua opera.
