A survey of flavescence dorée disease, including the Scaphoideus titanus distribution, has been conducted in Catalonia since 1996 when the first outbreak occurred. The disease incidence has drastically decreased, from 101.25ha of productive vineyards in 1996 to 5,4ha in 2008; this could be related to the effectiveness of the containment measures adopted against S. titanus and the complete elimination of affected grapevines
