The chapter analyses the relation among victims, victimization processes and contemporary societies in order to stress the complexity of the whole situation, the normative and legal binds, the restrictions due to the social definitions, and the rpoblem of "social labels" applied to this condition (the one of victims of crime, disasters, abuses and torts, social iniquities). Finally, the contribution focuses the implications in terms of social interventions and social policies in matter of victims. Particullarly attention is given to the Italian context.
Il capitolo analizza il rapporto fra vittime, processi di vittimizzazione e società contemporanee evidenziando la complessità dello stesso, i vincoli normativi e definitori, il tema delle "etichette" applicate socialmente (in questo caso alle vittime di reati, ingiustizie, torti ed abusi, catastrofi) le implicazioni in termini di interventi e politiche sociali ad oggi. In particolare un focus aggiuntivo è dedicato al contesto italiano, e alla sua comparazione con altre realtà europee.
